Revisit Our Founders

I’ve been struggling lately with the political events, laws and decisions enacted recently. I like many others fear the American culture and ideals are under attack. We seem to be on a very socialistic path and I fear something grand will be lost. Freedom of speech was once cherished in this land but now through the guise of political correctness speech has been very successfully repressed. Reasonable discussions have become impossible; if you have an opinion on the illegal immigration issue you are immediately labeled a racist. Peacefully protest with folks who share your ideals and you are racist and violent. Disagree with a national heath care scam and you are racist and ignorant. Who would have ever thought that in America you would be persecuted for aspiring for the American Dream, yet I just heard the president proclaim there should a limit to how much money a person should make. I found it shocking that in 2010 47% of Americans paid no income tax. How can a country exist when half the folks are paying for the other half? Why should anyone choose to work at all? I did a little searching the other day; I can’t find the law that requires American citizens to pay a federal income tax. Will someone help me with this? Because of my fears I have recently re-read and started to study our constitution and its interpretations through the years. When I had to study civics in school I thought that the constitution was a document proclaiming the powers of the government, boy was I wrong. To my surprise the constitution does not grant the government any rights. In fact the constitution expressly prohibits the government infringing on our rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Do you remember these words…We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes and read through the constitution, its simple, straight forward and easy to read. Make your own interpretation of its meaning; I believe you will find we have strayed significantly from our founders intentions. Type the word ‘constitution’ into google and you will find it.

Thank you for sharing all of the interesting information in this intel, Brock. I'm not able to quote a law, but a New Hampshire couple was recently removed from their home, tried and convicted of tax evasion. Being taxed is the way we get to pay for our fair share of freedom. Having those tax dollars wasted, is the crime. Best wishes. Frederick
