Engine Data By Brock Hileman When setting up a plant in a remote area it is necessary to provide power. A fuel gas driven generator is a common method for generating electrical power in the gas production industry wherby the power source is a CAT engine. I recently encountered a wonderful solution to obtaining critical engine information such as rpm,cylinder temperatures, vibration analysis,etc. Monico has a protocol conversion device that when paired with a Control Logix processor efficiently manages the critical engine information for optimum engine performance.
